Getting started
Getting started
Five steps stand between an empty account and a customer joining your waitlist from their phone. None of them needs a card, and you can stop after step four if you only want to try it out.
The path
Create your account and answer the setup wizard
You sign in with Google, Apple or a link sent to your email — there is no password to choose. The wizard then asks for your business name, your public link and what you do, and uses the answers to seed some starting services. Create your account
Add your first location
A location is one branch, shop or surgery. Its address, time zone and opening hours decide when customers can join and what time everything is displayed in. Add your first location
Set up a queue
A queue is a single line customers join. One is enough for most shops; split it when two lines genuinely move at different speeds. Set up your first queue
Print a QR code
The code goes on your door, your counter or your table cards. Scanning it opens your join page. Print your QR code
Check what your customers will see
Scan your own code before you put it out. Everything a visitor can reach is listed under what your customers see.
Before you go live
The four steps above give you a working waitlist. These are the ones worth doing before real customers depend on it:
- Read your customer messages and rewrite anything that does not sound like you. They go out under your name.
- Decide what you ask people when they join. The default is a name and a mobile number.
- Set your opening hours, so nobody joins a queue at midnight.
- Invite the staff who will actually work the list, and give them the right role.
If something is not working
Start with troubleshooting, which is organised by symptom. If that does not cover it, email hello@queuejoin.com.
You can change all of this later
Nothing set during onboarding is permanent. Your public link, your industry, your services and your hours are all editable afterwards, so pick something reasonable and move on.
